DDD LAUNCHES WORLD'S FIRST ONLINE HIGH DEFINITION 3D MOVIE WEBSITE
Yabazam.com offers wide range of full colour 3D content
Santa Monica, Calif. (November 20th, 2009) - DDD Group plc (AIM: DDD) today announces that it has launched Yabazam.com, the world's first online website dedicated to the digital delivery of high definition original 3D movies.
Yabazam! offers a wide range of content including the ever-popular 3D animation genre, extreme sports, documentaries and independent films. With 18 titles already available in a growing library, Yabazam delivers the broadest selection of full-color, professionally made 3D films available today.
DDD has licensed the digital distribution rights from a number of leading 3D film producers and distribution companies for properties including 'Garfield's Pet Force' from Paws Inc., 'The Curse of Skull Rock' from Sheffield-based Red Star Studio and 'Facing Champlain' from the National Film Board of Canada.
Under the terms of the distribution agreements, DDD hosts the movies on the Yabazam! website where customers of DDD's TriDef 3D Experience software can download free trailers and 3D stills from the movies before deciding to buy the digital download. Download prices range from $2.99 to $14.99 depending on the length of the movie. After deducting the distribution and payment processing fees, DDD shares the remaining profit with the content publisher, creating an attractive new income stream for producers of the latest 3D films and animations.
Yabazam! is also compatible with DDD's TriDef 3D software that is pre-loaded on the recently launched Acer Aspire® 5738 series 3D notebook PCs. The Acer 3D notebooks include a selection of movie trailers drawn from Yabazam! for customers to enjoy in addition to three animated 3D short films from producer Justin Knowles.
