Coventry Building Society announces it intends to appoint Gary Hoffman as Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Board, subject to receipt of regulatory approval. It is intended Mr Hoffman will join the Board on 26 April 2018. It is envisaged that the Society's current interim Chair Peter Ayliffe will resume the role of Deputy Chair.

Mr Hoffman brings wide-ranging experience of financial services from a career that includes executive and non-executive positions in banking, insurance and payments services. He is currently a Director of Hastings Group Holdings plc (HGH) and will become Non-Executive Chairman of HGH in May 2018. He also serves on the Board of Visa Europe as Chairman and will be stepping down from this position effective 30 June 2018.

Mr Hoffman has served as a Non-Executive Director of Visa Inc., a company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, and Trinity Mirror plc in the previous five years. There are no matters requiring disclosure under Listing Rules 9.6.13 R (2) to (6).
