Christie Group plc ('the Company')

It is with considerable sadness that the Board announces that The Lord Lane of Horsell, our senior non executive director, known to us as Peter Lane, passed away on Friday 9 January 2009.

Peter provided invaluable advice and guidance whilst at Binder Hamlyn in relation to the Company's 1988 flotation and since joining the board in 1994. He was highly respected by his colleagues and we shall miss him greatly. We extend our deepest sympathy to his family at this very sad time.
