Resignation of Director and Appointment of Interim Chairman

Cientifica PLC, the AIM-quoted investment company focused on investment in businesses making use of advanced materials, graphene and emerging technologies, announces the departure from the Board of Tim Baldwin. Tim is stepping down to focus his time on other business interests. The Board take this opportunity to thank Tim for his valuable contribution to development of the company's business.

In parallel the Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Tim Godwin MA ACA to the Board as Interim Chairman with immediate effect.

Mr Godwin, is an experienced MD, FD and technology entrepreneur and is an investor in and director of a number of businesses in the software, internet, media and manufacturing sectors.

He previously founded and was CEO of Retail Business Solutions Limited which was set up to develop and market software solutions to the retail sector. Retail Business Solutions Limited secured venture capital funding from 3iplc and was built into a successful software and services group with total revenues on final exit exceeding £12m per annum. The business is now owned by Micros.

Tim has also founded and successfully exited businesses in the out of home and digital out of home media sectors working with venture capital and private equity investors.

Tim Godwin also acts as a self-employed consultant to Thames Valley Capital, a major shareholder in Cientifica.

Tim Harper, CEO of Cientifica, commented:
