CATERPILLAR INC. FILES FORM 8-K

PEORIA, Ill.- 23 October 2013 - Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE: CAT / NYSE Euronext: CATR / LSE: CTA) informs its stockholders that today, a Form 8-K has been furnished to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC").

On October 23, 2013, Caterpillar hosted a conference call and webcast related to its financial results for the quarter ended September 30, 2013. Due to technical difficulty, there was a brief interruption in transmission. As a result, a Form 8-K was furnished to provide a transcript of the missing portion of the call and webcast. This Form 8-K, and all previous Forms 8-K in respect of Caterpillar, can be found on the SEC Internet site (www.sec.gov).
