TOTAL VOTING RIGHTS

Pursuant to Rule 5.6.1 of the Disclosure and Transparency Rules, Guinness Peat Group plc ("GPG") announces that the total number of its ordinary shares of 5p each in issue as at the date of this notice is 1,822,959,937.

GPG does not hold any shares in treasury.

The total number of voting rights in GPG is therefore 1,822,959,937. This figure may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required under the Disclosure and Transparency Rules to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, GPG.
