Change of Directors' Interests

Guinness Peat Group plc ("GPG" or "the Company") announces that following exercises of share options under the Company's 1992 Share Option Scheme, the interests of Mr B A Nixon and Dr G H Weiss in the ordinary shares of GPG have changed as follows:

Their interests in options over the ordinary shares of GPG under the Company's share option schemes have reduced accordingly. Mr Nixon and Dr Weiss now each hold a total of 11,532,163 options, exercisable between 17 January 2004 and 10 April 2018 at prices between 18.89p and 61.33p. There are no other changes to their interests in the shares of GPG or its quoted subsidiaries.
