ANNOUNCEMENT

Change of Director's Interests

Guinness Peat Group plc ("GPG" or "the Company") announces that following the disposal of 500,000 ordinary shares of the Company on the New Zealand Stock Market on 18 November 2009 of which 325,916 were sold at a price of NZ$0.81 and 174,084 were sold at a price of NZ$0.82, the interests of Mr B A Nixon in shares of GPG have reduced from 15,509,849 shares to 15,009,849 shares.

Mr B A Nixon's interests in options over shares of GPG under the Company's share option schemes remain unchanged.
