Persian Gold PLC05 September 2006 Persian Gold plc Commencement of Drilling at Chah-e-Zard Gold Project in Iran Persian Gold (AIM:PNG), the AIM listed gold explorer focused on Iran, is pleasedto announce that a 10 hole diamond drilling programme has started on theChah-e-Zard gold prospect near Yazd, Iran. The drilling is expected to take upto three months to complete and will test the continuity at depth of the strongsurface gold values previously reported. A trenching programme to test the lateral extensions of gold mineralization atsurface is nearing completion. Persian Gold holds an option to acquire 70% of the Chah-e-Zard project with theremainder held by a local Iranian company.
