Scrip Dividend Alternative

Elektron announces that the deadline for electing to receive shares in lieu of cash in respect of the final dividend for the year ended 31 January 2009 has now passed and holders of 52.5% of the current issued share capital have elected to participate.

Subject to the passing of Resolutions 3 and 4 at the AGM to be held on 29 July 2009, an additional 2,537,902 shares will be issued increasing the total number of Ordinary Shares in the Company with voting rights to 89,163,905. Application will be made for the new shares to be admitted to trading on the AIM Market of the London Stock Exchange and the new shares are expected to be admitted to trading on 13 August 2009.
