Board Appointment
Further to its announcement on 28 November 2019, Codemasters Group Holdings plc, the award winning British video game developer and publisher specialising in high quality racing games, is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Bell as an executive director of the Company with immediate effect. Mr Bell will continue his role as Chief Executive Officer of Slightly Mad Studios Limited ("SMS").
Ian is an innovator in both game production and game funding with 20 years' experience in the gaming industry. Founded by Ian in 2009, SMS is an award winning multi-platform video game developer renowned for developing critically acclaimed and commercially successful racing franchises and games including Project CARS and Need For Speed™ Shift.
Prior to founding SMS, Ian served as the CEO of Blimey! Games Limited, a software development company. In June 2003 Ian, together with Henrik Roos and Johan Roos, co-founded SimBin Development Team AB, a Swedish game developer, focused on producing the highest simulated gaming realism for all leading gaming platforms.
Ian graduated from Queen's University Belfast in 1997, with a first-class honours degree in Psychology.

Mr Bell holds 1,200,490 ordinary shares of 1 penny each in the Company, representing c.0.8% of the Company's total voting rights.
Blimey! Games Limited
Ian Bell was a director of Blimey! Games Limited ("Blimey"), a software development company, at the time of it entering administration. On 8 January 2009, David Rubin & Partners LLP were appointed as administrators at the request of Ian Bell, the sole Director of Blimey.
Blimey was finally dissolved via a creditors' voluntary winding up on 8 February 2014. The financial outcome from the Creditors' Voluntary Winding Up of Blimey, as set out in the Return of Final Meeting dated 7 November 2013 was as follows: 13 unsecured creditors were paid in full and ordinary shareholders received 33.31 pence per share.
Mr Bell has confirmed that, other than the information disclosed above, there is no further information in connection with his appointment required to be disclosed under Schedule Two, paragraph (g) of the AIM Rules for Companies.
