Character Group PLC29 June 2007 The Character Group plc 29 June 2007 The Character Group plc (the 'Group' or 'Company') Transaction in Own Shares As part of the Group's stated objective to enhance shareholder value, theCompany advises that it has today purchased in the market for cancellationthrough Charles Stanley Securities 12,400 ordinary shares in the Company at aprice of 160.0 pence per share. This represents approximately 0.03% of theissued share capital of the Company (excluding shares held in treasury). Following the cancellation of these shares, the Company has 44,435,113 ordinaryshares in issue (excluding 1,000,000 ordinary shares in the Company held inTreasury). The Directors will continue to monitor the position and will, if appropriate,make further purchases of the Company's own shares.
