Charlemagne Capital Limited23 May 2006 23 May 2006 Purchase of Shares by a Director On 23 May 2006, Charlemagne Capital Limited ("Charlemagne", the "Company"), wasnotified of purchases of shares in the Company by interests connected with JamesMellon, a non-executive Director of the Company. Two companies which are whollyowned by a trustee of settlements under which James Mellon has a life interesthad made purchases in the open market earlier on the same day. The two companies purchased, in aggregate, 400,000 Ordinary Shares of US$0.01each, at a price of 73p per share. As a result of these purchases, James Mellon and entities connected with him nowhave interests in 53,087,647 Ordinary Shares of US$0.01 each or 17.8% of thetotal number of Ordinary Shares of US$0.01 each in issue.
