Commercial International Bank - Egypt S.A.E. (CIB) 

On January 10, 2013, his Excellency Dr. Mohamed Morsy, the Egyptian President, announced the nomination of Mr. Hisham Ramez, CIB's Vice Chairman and Managing Director, for the position of the Central Bank Governor. It's expected that Mr. Ramez will assume the responsibilities of Governor of CBE effective first week of February.

Commenting on the decision, Mr. Hisham Ezz Al Arab, CIB's Chairman and MD said: "Mr. Ramez spent little more than a year at CIB where he stamped his respect and recognition in such a short period of time and became a true CIBian. I will truly miss him as a partner but I do strongly believe this to be a great move for our beloved country and a great honor for us at CIB. It's a true reflection and recognition of the skill set of Mr. Ramez which is needed for the Central Bank and will help Egypt move forward. I always say, real men show their real metal at tough times." 

During the last 13 months, CIB management team have had the privilege to work with Mr. Ramez and his contributions to CIB in terms of strategy, operational management and energy have been recognized by all and reflected on CIB's financial performance.

Based on our Board Charter, in the absence of one of the managing directors, the other assumes his responsibilities as per the mandated authorities by the board until further notice. 

CIB wishes Mr. Ramez best of luck in his new challenging mission and we commit ourselves to cooperate with all market players to provide him with full support to successfully navigate through this critical transitional period.

البنك التجارى الدولى- مصر 

أعلن السيد رئيس الجمهورية الدكتور محمد مرسى يوم الخميس الموافق 10 يناير 2013 تسمية السيد هشام رامز عبد الحافظ - نائب رئيس مجلس الإدارة والعضو المنتدب للبنك التجارى الدولي - لتقلد منصب محافظ البنك المركزى المصرى. هذا ومن المتوقع أن يتولى السيد هشام رامز مسئولياته كمحافظ للبنك المركزى خلال الأسبوع الأول من شهر فبراير. 

وتعقيباً على هذا القرار، علق السيد هشام عز العرب -رئيس مجلس الإدارة والعضو المنتدب للبنك- قائلاً: 

"لقد أمضى السيد هشام رامز أكثر من عام فى البنك التجارى الدولى. وعلى الرغم من أنني سأفتقده كشريك في إدارة البنك، إلا أننى أؤمن بأهمية هذه الخطوة لبلدنا الحبيب و ما تمثله من شرف كبير لنا فى البنك. كما تعد هذه الخطوة انعكاساً واعترافاً بمهارات السيد هشام رامز وقدراته وخبرته الواسعة والتى يحتاجها البنك المركزى وتحتاجها مصر لتخطى الفترة الحالية. وهذا يؤكد أن الرجل الحقيقي يظهر معدنه في الأوقات الصعبة."

على مدار الثلاثة عشر أشهر الماضية، نال فريق إدارة البنك التجارى الدولى شرف العمل مع السيد هشام رامز، والذي انعكست إسهاماته العديدة فيما يخص استراتيجية البنك وطاقاته التنفيذية والتشغيلية على أداء البنك المالى ليترك بصماته فى جميع قطاعات البنك.

وينص ميثاق مجلس إدارة البنك على أنه في حالة غياب أحد الأعضاء المنتدبين، يتولى الآخر مسؤولياته وفقا للسلطة المخولة من قبل مجلس الإدارة حتى إشعار آخر. 

ويتمنى البنك التجارى الدولى التوفيق للسيد هشام رامز فى موقعه الجديد كمحافظ للبنك المركزى المصرى ونحن ملتزمون بالتعاون مع جميع البنوك العاملة بالقطاع المصرفي المصري في تقديم كامل الدعم لمعاونته على تخطي هذه المرحة الانتقالية الحرجة بنجاح.
