Director Shareholding

Central Asia Metals plc (AIM:CAML), was informed on 11 May 2012 of the following disposals of the Company's ordinary shares of US$0.01 each ("Ordinary Shares") by Robert Cathery, a non-executive Director of the Company, and his wife Elizabeth Cathery on 9 May 2012 in order to satisfy institutional demand.

Robert Cathery disposed of 420,000 Ordinary Shares and, along with Elizabeth Cathery, disposed of a further 220,000 shares all at a price of 96 pence per Ordinary Share. Following these disposals, Mr Cathery has an interest in a total of 3,631,445 Ordinary Shares, representing approximately 4.21% of the issued share capital of the Company. Of this balance 1,834,000 are held in Mr Cathery's sole name, 1,780,000 are held jointly by him with Elizabeth Cathery, and 17,445 shares are held by Elizabeth Cathery.
