BUNZL ANNOUNCES ACQUISITIONS IN THE US AND ITALY
Bunzl plc, the international distribution and outsourcing Group, today announces that it has acquired two further safety businesses in the US and Italy.
ML Kishigo, which is based in Santa Ana, California, is engaged in the sale of high visibility clothing and other safety related workwear to distributors throughout the US. Revenue in the year ended 31 December 2016 was US$34 million.
Neri and its associated companies, which are based near Bologna, supply a broad range of personal protection equipment, including gloves, footwear and workwear, to both distributors and end users throughout Italy. Revenue in the year ended 31 December 2016 was €47 million.
Commenting on the acquisitions, Frank van Zanten, Chief Executive of Bunzl, said:
"The purchase of ML Kishigo and Neri will expand and develop our operations serving the safety sector in both North America and Continental Europe. ML Kishigo's ability to provide customised solutions for their customers will bring additional expertise and an extended product portfolio to our existing safety business in the US, while the acquisition of Neri takes us into this important market in Italy for the first time.
