Technical Division Senior Management Appointments

Braemar Shipping Services PLC (LSE: BMS), a leading international provider of broking, consultancy, technical and other services to the shipping and energy industries, is delighted to announce two new senior management appointments within the Technical Services division.

The Technical Services division supplies services to the Shipping, Offshore, Insurance and Energy services markets and these senior appointments have been made in order to capitalise on its strong market position. Both appointments will take effect as of 10 May 2016.

Grant Smith has been appointed as Managing Director of the Technical Services division and a member of Braemar's Executive Committee. Grant will have full responsibility for the activities and performance of the division and the Managing Directors of the five business units within Technical Services. Grant is a commercial law graduate who began his career in the traditional marine market before transferring his skills to the energy sector. Formerly the head of Braemar's Adjusting unit Grant has been involved in exploration, construction and operational projects across the globe for over 20 years and has a proven track record of developing talent, building teams and delivering the highest service standards.

Geoff Jones succeeds Grant as the head of Braemar's Adjusting business. Geoff joined Braemar Adjusting 2 years ago, having spent 33 years in the Marine and Energy Insurance industry, dealing with high profile claims throughout that time including Piper Alpha, Bombay High North and Macondo. Geoff is a former member of the influential Joint Rig Committee and currently sits as a member of the organising committee for the Lillehammer Energy Claims Conference. He has proven management and industry credentials and is fully deserving of global responsibility for our Adjusting business unit.
