("Avon") is pleased to announce that, following an extensivedevelopment and approval programme related to their new Self Contained BreathingApparatus (SCBA) system, the Viking Z Seven, Avon ISI has received approvalcertification following the successful completion of all associated testing. TheViking Z Seven is Avon's latest advance in SCBAs which began setting theindustry standard for innovation when first introduced in 1999. The testing, carried out at independent facilities, has resulted in the productreceiving the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)certification and full approval to the new National Fire Protection Association(NFPA) 2007 standards, these being requirements in order to sell SCBA systemswithin the United States. Avon ISI, based in Lawrenceville GA, is part of Avon's Protection business,specialising in the development, production and sales of a range of SCBA forfire, rescue, law enforcement and military applications.
