Aseana Properties Limited (LSE: ASPL), aΒ leadingΒ AsianΒ property developerΒ on the Official List of the London Stock Exchange,Β today announcesΒ thatΒ it hasΒ received an Investment License from the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to develop a primeΒ City Centre site in District 4 of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The development, to be named theΒ Horizon Place, is located on a site with an area of approximately 8,400Β m2. Aseana PropertiesΒ will undertake this development jointly with BinhΒ DuongΒ Corporation, aΒ VietnamΒ property development company. Aseana PropertiesΒ will own 65%Β of the ventureΒ andΒ is expected toΒ investΒ approximately US$11.5Β million in the development.
Horizon PlaceΒ will consist ofΒ twoΒ residential towers, an office-serviced apartmentΒ tower and a retail mall with a total gross floor area of approximatelyΒ 92,500Β m2. The developmentΒ is estimated to have a gross developmentΒ valueΒ of approximately US$200Β million. Horizon PlaceΒ is strategically located at the periphery of District 4, adjacent to District 1, the central business and commercial districtΒ of Ho Chi Minh City. Located along the main thoroughfare ofΒ Nguyen Thai Hoc Boulevard, and with a commuting time of less thanΒ 5Β minutes to the heart of the city,Β Horizon PlaceΒ is expected to drawΒ dwellers andΒ businessesΒ looking for a central location that is within easy reach of District 1 and the southern districts ofΒ Ho Chi Minh City. DevelopmentΒ ofΒ Horizon PlaceΒ is expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2008.Β
