Appian Technology PLC02 April 2008 Appian Technology plc / Ticker: APN / Market: AIM / Sector: Technology 2nd April 2008 Appian Technology plc ('Appian' or 'the Company') Wins Contracts Totalling £510,000 for UK Critical Infrastructure Protection Appian Technology plc, the AIM listed provider of Automatic Number PlateRecognition systems ('ANPR') and traffic management products and solutions, haswon contracts totalling £510,000 to equip a number of UK police forces andsecurity agencies with its ANPR systems. Appian has won three new airport contracts worth £275,000 to supply fixed siteANPR technology to monitor and secure a major international airport in the northof England, an international airport in the Midlands and a large regionalairport in the south of England. The Company is now the dominant ANPR supplierto the UK airport market, with a total of seven airports using its Talon ANPRtechnology. Additionally, the Company has been awarded two contracts worth circa £195,000 toinstall its ANPR systems in two UK city centres, which will be operated by thepolice and used for crime reduction and counter terrorist initiatives.Furthermore, the Company has won contracts to equip the UK rail network andsupply a military air base with portable ANPR systems worth £40,000.
