APPOINTMENT OF GROUP FINANCE DIRECTOR

API Group plc, the specialist packaging materials company, announced today the appointment of Christopher Ian Charles Smith (age 44) as Group Finance Director. 

Mr Smith, who will formally join the Board at its next meeting on 23 September 2008, is a Charted Accountant with 17 years industrial experience with Courtaulds plc and latterly with Scapa plc, a manufacturer of adhesive tapes and films. At Scapa, he was Finance and IT Director for Europe and Asia. 

Commenting on the appointment, Richard Wright, Non-executive Chairman of API, said:

At this time, the Board would also like to thank Richard Scully who has served as Interim Chief Financial Officer since Andrew Robertson stepped down in March of this year." 

Other than as set out below, there are no other matters which are required to be announced pursuant to paragraph (g) of Schedule 2 of the AIM Rules.
