First Quarter Contract Wins and Business Development

Following the recent Operational Review Update (the "Review"), the Board is pleased to announce significant new contract wins and recent business development successes across the Group. Many of these positive developments reflect the more focussed strategy highlighted in the Review.

Component Division: First quarter orders exceed £3.5m

Advanced Power Components continues to secure an impressive forward order book with first quarter orders ahead of forecast.

Highlights include significant new contracts for power supplies to be used on specialist transceiver equipment for a major UK defence programme and for semi-conductors and interconnect devices for counter-IED (Improvised Explosive Devices) equipment, together with a substantial follow-on contract from a UK aerospace contractor for a major export contract. These orders offer excellent opportunity for on-going, repeat business and further contract wins.

The distribution team is also well advanced in the roll-out of our connectivity and 'Internet of Things' product offering, with orders already secured.

Minimise Water: Contract wins total £1.5m

Our water hygiene and treatment business has been selected as sole water management supplier for a major hotel Group across their 21 UK and three European sites, building on our already extensive hotel client list.

In the Facilities Management sector, where we have a strong water treatment customer base, Minimise Water has been appointed to provide water treatment services to 1,500 key government sites across the South West.

Long-standing group client Network Rail, which has been using our energy monitoring and control technology at over 20 UK sites for the past two years, has now installed our new Compliance Online water temperature monitoring system at its prestigious London Bridge site. One of five new products launched since July 2015 by Minimise Water, Compliance Online automates continuous temperature monitoring of water systems to reduce the risk of Legionella and provide robust real-time reporting. We are seeing significant interest and trials from residential services, food manufacturing and education for this product.

These wins, alongside other contract renewals secured since the start of the fiscal year, represent a significant annual recurring revenue stream whilst also securing opportunities to sell in the wider group's products and services.

Minimise Solutions: ESOS compliance delivers new opportunities

The impending deadline for ESOS compliance and the UK Government's recent extension of this has helped generate substantial new business for Minimise Solutions, the Group's energy consultancy unit. This includes both UK and European projects for several large consultancy businesses, as well as direct projects for new customers across numerous sectors. To date, over 100 individual ESOS audits have been completed or confirmed. Additionally, complementary products and services, such as carbon reporting, have already been developed and further contracts won from these clients. The solutions team is actively engaged across the Group's customer base with a view to further capitalising on these excellent cross-selling opportunities.
