Voting Rights and Capital

1st July 2008

Pursuant to provisions of the Transparency Directive, Allied Irish Banks, p.l.c. declares that its issued share capital consists of 918,435,570 ordinary shares of €0.32 each with voting rights.

This includes, as at close of business on 30th June 2008, 35,680,114 ordinary shares held as Treasury shares. 

Therefore, the total number of ordinary shares with voting rights relevant to notifying an interest in, or a change to an interest in, Allied Irish Banks, p.l.c., is 882,755,456.
