Akers Biosciences, Inc. ("Akers" or the "Company") UK Orders
Akers Biosciences, Inc. which develops, manufactures, and supplies rapid, point of care screening and testing products, is delighted to announce that it has received its first substantial purchase orders for products in the United Kingdom, through its UK distributor Advanced Rapid Diagnostics Limited ("ARD").
ARD has placed initial orders for more than 2,000 units of a combination of the US Department of Transportation approved alcohol breathalyzer kits, which are marketed under the name Breath Alcohol Check, and drugs of abuse test kits. These breathalyzer kits each contain 25 single-use detectors and 1 multi-use electronic analyzer.
Today's order represents the first substantial international order for Akers products in 2007, and the first meaningful penetration of the UK market. ARD reports that the order has been made in response to continuing and recurring demand from end users, and the success is illustrative of the Company's campaign to increase its European and global sales and marketing presence.
