The enclosed announcement (the "SSE Announcement") was published by Air China Limited (the "Air China") on the Shanghai Stock Exchange on 15 October 2020, which contains combined operating data for September 2020 for Air China and its subsidiaries (collectively, the "Group"). This announcement enclosing the SSE Announcement is made by Air China pursuant to Rules 13.09 and 13.10B of the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (the "Listing Rules") and the Inside Information Provisions (as defined in the Listing Rules) under Part XIVA of the Securities and Futures Ordinance (Chapter 571 of the Laws of Hong Kong).

ANNOUNCEMENT ON KEY OPERATING DATA OF SEPTEMBER 2020
In September 2020, Air China Limited (the "Company"), and its subsidiaries (the "Group") recorded decrease in combined passenger traffic (measured by revenue passenger kilometers (the "RPK")) as compared to the same period last year and recorded increase as compared to last month. Passenger capacity (measured by available seat kilometers (the "ASK")) recorded a year-on-year decrease of 34.9% and a month-on-month increase of 4.7%. Passenger traffic recorded a year-on-year decrease of 38.6% and a month-on-month increase of 8.7%. For domestic routes, passenger capacity recorded a year-on-year increase of 5.6% and a month-on-month increase of 4.6%; passenger traffic increased by 0.1%, as compared to the same period last year, and recorded a month-on-month increase of 9.2%. For international routes, passenger capacity decreased by 0.3% and passenger traffic decreased by 13.4%, as compared to last month. Passenger capacity on regional routes increased by 100%, and passenger traffic recorded an increase of 175.5%, as compared to last month. The overall passenger load factor was 75.7%, representing an increase of 2.8 percentage points as compared to last month. The passenger load factor for domestic routes increased by 3.2 percentage points and for international routes decreased by 6.7 percentage points as compared to last month, and the passenger load factor for regional routes increased by 4.5 percentage points month-on-month.
In terms of cargo operations, cargo capacity (measured by available freight tonne kilometers (the "AFTK")) decreased by 0.2% year-on-year and increased by 13.9% month-on-month. Cargo and mail traffic (measured by revenue freight tonne kilometers (the "RFTK")) decreased by 10.9% year-on-year and increased by 18.8% month-on-month. The cargo load factor was 39.8%, representing a year-on-year decrease of 4.8 percentage points and a month-on-month increase of 1.7 percentage points.
In September 2020, the Group introduced two A320NEO aircraft. As at the end of September 2020, the Group operated a fleet of 702 aircraft, including 293 self-owned aircraft, 206 aircraft under finance lease and 203 aircraft under operating lease.

Since 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has been spreading all over the world, causing serious impact on air transport industry and sharply reducing aviation demand. Since the third quarter, the domestic air passenger transport market has accelerated to recover, and the passenger transport scale of international routes is still at a low level. The Group grasps the change of market demand, dynamically optimizes transportation capacity, refines marketing control, actively seeks for space for revenue increase, and strives to minimize the impact of the pandemic through various measures. However, in view of the impact of the pandemic on the air transport industry, investors are hereby reminded that it is expected that the performance of the Group in the third quarter of 2020 may be greatly affected.
