APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTORS

AIB Group plc and Allied Irish Banks, p.l.c. (together, "AIB" or the "Group") are very pleased to announce the appointments of Ms Tanya Horgan and Mr Jan Sijbrand as independent non-executive Directors. They will both join the AIB Board and the Board Risk Committee with immediate effect.

Ms Horgan is a chartered accountant with extensive industry-based experience in the areas of compliance, internal audit and risk management and has over twenty years' experience in publicly listed companies. Ms Horgan trained and qualified with PricewaterhouseCoopers. She has since held roles in a number of organisations including Tesco, Mercury Engineering, Paddy Power Betfair plc and, most recently, was the Group Chief Risk Officer of Flutter Entertainment plc.

Mr Sijbrand has had an extensive executive career including roles in Royal Dutch Shell PLC, Rabobank Nederland, ABN AMRO Holding N.V. and NIBC Bank N.V. and was a Member of the Executive Board and Chairman for Supervision at De Nederlandsche Bank N.V. (the central bank of the Netherlands). He is currently a member of the Supervisory Board and Chair of the Public Interest Committee of PricewaterhouseCoopers ("PwC") Nederland and joined the Global Board of PwC in June 2021.

This announcement is made in accordance with Rule 6.1.64 of Euronext Dublin's Listing Rules and Rule 9.6.11 of the London Stock Exchange's Listing Rules.

The Group confirms that there are no other matters requiring disclosure under Rule 6.1.66 of Euronext Dublin's Listing Rules/Rule 9.6.13 of the London Stock Exchange's Listing Rules relating to Ms Horgan or Mr Sijbrand.
