Assura plc ("Assura" or the "Company"), the leading investor and developer of primary care properties, announces that David Richardson intends to retire as Non-Executive Director of the Company at the conclusion of the AGM on 2 July 2019. David was appointed in 2012 and served as Chair of the Audit Committee and Senior Independent Director.
David indicated to the Board last year that he was considering retiring after seven years in the role. Accordingly, the Board initiated a search for a new non-executive director, who could provide possible succession for David and Jonathan Davies joined the board in June last year as a Non-Executive Director. The Board now intends to appoint Jonathan as Chairman of the Audit Committee and Senior Independent Director at the AGM.
Ed Smith, Non-Executive Chairman, commented; "I would like to thank David on behalf of our shareholders and the Board for his fantastic contribution to Assura over 7 years. His experience and wisdom have been invaluable in ensuring strong growth in our business and sound Governance and we wish him well in his retirement from our Board."
