RETIREMENT OF A DIRECTOR
In compliance with section 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, notification is hereby given that Mr L C (Lex) van Vught will retire as a non-executive director of AECI, with effect from 31 December 2008.
Lex has had 40 years' involvement with AECI, including five years as its chief executive from 1998 to 2003. During that period, his leadership in transforming the Company from an unfocused collection of largely commodity-based businesses to a specialty product and service solutions entity, was exemplary. AECI's Board of directors acknowledges Lex's contribution in this regard and thanks him for the value that his insight and experience continued to add as a non-executive director.
