Because nothing Onshore will make a dent in our O&G requirements - all onshore production combined would be a rounding error in our quarterly total production.

They need to focus the resources of the O&G authority on approving new Offshore fields - but even those will take years to actually bring onto production.

They should also look at possibly extending the life of marginal fields by cutting the current tax regime.

Remember, there is a 30% RFCT and 10% SC on all production that cannot be offset by losses elsewhere in an organisation.

Maybe - but if they turned round and started trying to produce it while their application to the OGA to turn it into a water injector is being considered, that's unlikely to be looked upon favourably.

I'd be more interested if it was worth producing from the Kimm on HH-1z - but we have never been told why they haven't done anything with it despite glowing RNS's quoting figures of (from memory) over 300 BOPD with no water cut when it was on test.

From the UKOG RNS of the 1st Feb:

"Data processing of the first phase by BGP in Abu Dhabi is now underway."

This phase normally takes a month and then they have to interpret it - usually about another month.

Presuming AME & UKOG can agree on the targets and that the targets can be reached from the current well bore, the detailed well planning will take another 2 - 3 weeks.

Then they can look at mobilising the rig and other equipment needed to drill the Well.

I don't expect drilling operations to actually start until late May or June.

And as I have posted before, that is based on the assumption that they can reach one or both targets from the current well bore - by no means a given.

Sorry - wrong.

Declaring a Well / Field commercial only happens after the field had been properly delineated by a combination of Seismic, Exploration / Appraisal drilling and well testing.

There are plenty of examples where all the above has happened and oil successfully produced on test, but is not commercial to put into production.

A cut and paste from a Deepwater Field offshore Angola, with a State National Oil Company as partner and has nothing in common with UKOG or HH is just a waste of everyone's time.
