"Thank you for our discussions of recent days in response to the exceptional circumstances caused by Covid-19. The PRA welcomes the consideration given by you and your firm to suspending dividends and buybacks on ordinary shares until the end of 2020. The PRA are asking you provide the government with all dividends which would have otherwise been paid so that we can give the workers of the NHS a much deserved pay reward in recognition of the demanding and critical work they undertake for the benefit of society.
The PRA are also asking you pay the government all bonuses which you would have undeservingly deemed to rewarded yourself and colleagues with. The PRA consider such bonuses paid to banking the self-serving hierarchy are better spent on improving the NHS infrastructure for the benefit of the whole of society.
Scandalous. Note the contrast in the wording in Mr Woods letter. Is he deliberately letting the bank hierarchy off the hook at the expense of ordinary Pi's?
..... I am also writing to "ask" you to cancel payments of any outstanding 2019 dividends.
The PRA also "expects" banks not to pay any cash bonuses to senior staff, including all material risk
takers, and is confident that bank boards are already considering and will take any appropriate further
actions with regard to the accrual, payment and vesting of variable remuneration over coming months.
May already be posted but, according to trials in China, this drug looks like it reduces effect of Cov-19 on lungs. Recovery time reduced from 11 to 4 days. Been available from 2015 and originally developed by Fujifilm.
Some a bit slow on here. As I mentioned Tuesday 22:26...............
CNN: 21:30 USA Coronavirus update. Just two US companies dishing out the test kits and diagnostics in the USA - LabCorp and Quest.
Interesting: "LabCorp, is an American S&P 500 company headquartered in Burlington, North Carolina. It operates one of the largest clinical laboratory networks in the world, with a United States network of 36 primary laboratories. Before a merger with National Health Laboratory in 1995, the company operated under the name Roche BioMedical."
- Note the Roche association.
Getting approval from FDA for products is a long, long process involving clinical trials - at best probably 12 month process.
As already covered on here NCYT do not need the FDA cert - it would obviously be a bonus in marking the product out from others- but its Premierdesign Cov-19 product sells well, with reputation, without the FDA approval.
NCYT immediate problem is keeping up with current, and increasing demand for its Premierdesign Cov-19 test kits - gaining FDA approval is a side, but beneficial distraction.
I am staying with this - out of everything else.
It makes sense - the sp is stable 100-120 p mark and the sales and impact of its Premierdesign Cov-19 product is only just starting at the bottom of a steep upwards curve. There are many, many months of sales to come. This brings more opportunity for spin-out of the Premierdesign Cov-19 product with possible jv with a major pharma as back up for increased production.
This will leave Ncyte to then concentrate on its core business. Anyway - revenues can only but increase.
"As of 11 March 2020, Primerdesign has sold and received orders for over £2.3 million (€2.6 million) of its CE-Mark and research use only (RUO) COVID-19 tests, which represents approximately five months of sales for the division under normal circumstances. " Note that these sales figures would have included its other products - not just the (RUO) COVID-19 test product. Also - this product has realistically only been sold from beginning/ mid February - say ~ 4 weeks. The sales targets and demand has increased enormously since then.
sp is not going to fall - cannot say that for other stock.
I don't need others to justify why stock is good/bad as a long term prospect.
To me there are too many rampers/ derampers on here purely trying to drive the daily volatility to trade.
ps. was originally in at 63 p - so not taking my profit :-)
May be undertakers. Reminds me of when I was a teenager at school and a financial advisor gave me a lift home - I worked behind a bar- he said best businesses where undertakers - always a demand. Seems there will be even more soon enough.
"How can you trust any FTSE100 now? I know this will sound emotional, but every other FTSE100 also has external auditors - a big chunk probably used E&Y. Does the FTSE badge even mean anything after this".
Anyone compiled a list of FTSE 100 (250) companies audited by E&Y - just checking so that I can keep well clear of them in the future. If word got around I am sure pi's would also adopted a similar barge pole approach wrt to reported accounts.
Note from ICAEW web page:
"We protect the public interest by making sure our firms, members, students and affiliates maintain the highest standards of professional competency and conduct. ICAEW’s regulatory and disciplinary role is independent of membership activities so we can monitor, support or take steps to ensure change if these standards are not met. This section explains how we maintain the highest standards of professional conduct and access to the regulations and guidance."
:-{ a laugh
"The French laboratory bioMérieux will make available to health authorities screening tests for the coronavirus, which were clinically validated a few days ago."
Why did it need further validation if it was already CE approved?
Aye, but that turn around is down to the (in)efficiencies of the diagnostic labs ( or as you put it Corp test) and not the 120 mins of the NCYT kit.
Trump - still doing his utmost best to buoy the market - but being myopic in hoping there will be any US citizens left to buy ;-)
