Ammu I’m curious, are you short ENQ or just looking for a lower entry?
I’ll assume you’re not here to gloat about any of the other posters losing money.
Your posts seem to be quite gleeful about negativity and whatnot and you only really seem to post when the SP is red.
Do you want ENQ to succeed long term?
Thanks
Well done - so you’re just under 3p up.
Great article Modestus, nice and optimistic.
It’s even made KO a happy holder.
Maybe it can even encourage Ammu and Squif in to some happy thoughts?
KO, you should ask Ammu and Squif what their short position is. Or if they are looking for a lower entry point. Must be one of the two.
Hi Therapist,
Is it bad press? Probably not as bad as the earlier gaffs, having some top end PR and lobbying with access to law makers is a good thing.
I don’t think BEIS/OGA are stupid and will continue to act in the UK and the exchequer’s best interests.
When it comes to it, a carbon intensity/BOE As low as Orca’s proposed should be applauded and this type of expenditure and income will be what funds the energy transition. Not the knee jerk “stop it all” approach.
I’ve noticed Ammu only appears when there is a slight hint of any issue. It appears and then tries to blow the issue out of proportion. Like a shorted or someone wanting lower entry point would.
I would imagine there will be some bit of kit buggered on one train. Bumi will have contacted the OEM. OEM (say it’s Siemens) will say oh 12 weeks delivery. EQ will rage Bumi not holding capital spares. Bumi will go back to Siemens and negotiate, 12 weeks becomes four weeks plus 50% cost. Part should arrive soon.
That’s how these situations roll. Remember that Bumi got hammered before when the FPSO was operating below par, so I imagine there were currently be a reduced day rate.
Pretty simple and not a massive conspiracy that an RNS is required for. Things happen operationally and they get dealt with and contractual mechanisms provide some protection.
Lol I did think that mcap of £1 was pretty negative, even for you KO!
Thanks for the link E121
Better not be a target miss…..
So now we’re talking about electrification of Kraken.
If memory serves, these big boilers are usually below 50% thermally efficient and a large FPSO needs about 30MW of electricity power . For 30MW of electricity you’d need 60MW of boiler heat. I know gas turbines are more efficient but Kraken and EP don’t have them.
If we’re generating the electricity you would still require 30MW constant load.
Does anyone know in the electrification plans, are back ups for wind generation allowed? On a windy day the UK gets maybe 50% of its electricity from wind but on a calm day it’s maybe 5%.
What would Kraken do to secure 27MW on a calm day?
It’s fine for Norway as they can run huge cables from the hydro grid and that’s 99% reliable.
Any insight is appreciated.
Thanks
Great news - the Kuwaitis can cut their crude production to 0 as their commitment to net zero.
Everyone’s a winner!
Hitman,
We also had pigeons in the garden, they were eating what we hoped to be autumn broccoli. They were very blue on the neck, like the EnQuest blue.
This is a sign that blue will prevail over green in at least the short term.
That’s what I took from it anyway….
MRC is that a good idea? You know, with the Kraken fuel situation…
Good point onedb.
End of 2019 had impairments of $562m and $630m in 2020 through change in oil price and reduced production. I remember there was also the Kraken impairment (reserves reduction) in 2019 which I think was reversed in 2020, though not sure where that sits net.
Surely some of that to be removed and valuations adjusted accordingly?
I am not an accountant so not sure how all works.
Cheers
Jan you make a reasonable point about plc prestige. However I recall an AB interview (search for “Amjad Bseisu the ultimate outsider”) in which it is stated “ Denies he's a billionaire, but admits he's "close"”
That’s when EQ shares were trading for over £1. Must be galling for him to have almost achieved that level.
Maybe money matters more?
The interview is work that a read as it’s a good snapshot of 2012.
I do wonder if AB and JS will feel any pressure from the market to offer returns to shareholders, lest shareholders bail out? If such returns are on offer from HBR and others you don’t wonder what would be the attraction in holding EQ, unless there’s another major expansion story - Bressay/Bentley area development - but that would be expensive.
If neither, then you have to query why the institutions would continue to hold - according to the website (and assuming none of these are nominees) then that’s ~30% of issued shares.
Apologies for the spelling errors - I don’t think anyone is going rockstar here. Maybe private.
We all have our suspicions about the share price and it’s lack of progress, no positive updates despite a slew of good news.
If the company was to go private how would this happen?
Is it as with a TO, the acquiring party has to declare their position at 30% and the get 80%+ or whatever of shareholders approval?
Is it possible that AB could conspire with the other leader holders that have more than 30% combined to launch a move to go rockstar at some point when debt is down and the acquisition would pay for itself in a year?
How would us poor saps be recompensed? Is it simply a case of our shares are surrendered and we are paid whatever is agreed as the private placing price?
If AB needs to tweet “funding secured” after smoking jointly on an LBC interview or something. Though maybe that would have the alternative effect??
Thanks for any thoughts on this
Do you ever get the feeling that ENQ is trying to keep their own share price low??
To what end we can only speculate, but it does seem like if this was any other organisation they would be publicising all the good news!!
Production to be upped by 20% soon?
Selling half your production for a Brent premium?
Huge FCF at current brent?
Massive reductions in debt from H2 21 to end 22?
You get the idea….
WWTBOOTW!!
Something I’ve not seen posted on a share board since 2013 I think, when we were riding high at $115 and all was well with oil investing!
Great shout KO
Great move today, up close to 9% as I type, people catching on and recognising EQ as a great prospect now. Long may it continue and then we can leg up to 30p and smash through it!
Roll on 60p party!
