C-37 has killed the share price. Thats what I mean by whatever news comes out of Azer seems to have only one effect. There is a sense that any achievement is fragile and not lasting
ZEN wont walk away from Azer - the only thing that would cause that is a dispute with SOCAR. I have been in AST and seen how an immense resource can be abandoned because of disputes with the powers that be. So its possible
btw what happened to our Italian - Azer investor Magtolo ;-)
Bad news from Azer would mean we can regard it as a sunk cost and leave
Good news means more income
either way win win
I guess it feels like the company has a plan again
sentiment seems to be shifting so if we DO get some good news from Azer the 20p party might be a reality. Whatever was coming out of Azer seemed to have only one affect on the SP
Ezhik "Rumble in teh Jungle" refers to the fight between Mohammed Ali And George Foreman in Zaire in 1974, which is now the DRC
thats Congo formerly known as Zaire isn't it
pros : you gotta laugh
Its like Softbank bailing out WeWork
well the last update on Azer (Dec 12) suggested everything was ready and they are waiting for the go head from SOCAR - which should be a formality. If SOCAR wanted to pull the plug they would have done so . Or maybe some renegotiation is in order
I like to think that this Congo venture is just a way of AC saying to SOCAR: we have options . But thats perhaps wishful thinking
Biggest buy for a while. Someone is taking the long term view....
I will drive the A80 rig to Congo. AC can pay me with a few cases of wine ...
Congo and Azer sound like different problems TBH. If we are stuck in Azer there could be an extended period of paralysis, but who knows.
What are ACs core skills ? - juggling loans and talking to bureaucrats. Where can that skillset be deployed most effectively
lack of news on the Azer front might mean all is not well with SOCAR. ZEN not meeting its licence terms? Possibly a delay in the works . Hope to be proven wrong
ZEN always did say they on the looking out for similar deadbeat prospects, similar to Azer, that could be revived with AC's charm offensive but it does overstretch AC.
true SEA7 , also not expecting that 1000 bopd target to be reach till Mid January at earliest
Most of the news should be on expected lines
- C30 Spud
- C37 Production Flow rate confirmed
- Other workovers , perforations etc
thats great to hear but AC always did sell a convincing story. Still something must come out of it
yup 5 days to go till we open Christmas prezzies
these wells have been drilled before - its a valid point. Deepest well is 4,740 metres so they must have been using a pretty big rig.
Think SOCAR gold plated it and ZEN couldn't say no. If the ground was really unstable wouldn't some foundation pillars be required? Anyway its not a big deal
Appreciate the concrete pad was probably not needed but how much money can you make on it ? No a lot . The pad is now completed even if it cost 3x.
So whats holding up operations. More little conspiracies
ok they are top people. Like Trump, AC only gets the best people
But surely all this competence will starting pulling the company forward , manifesting in better results .
If we parse this RNS again (possibly a futile exercise) it reads like the BD260 rig is in place and ready to drill
"Zenith is currently in discussions with its REDPSA partner, SOCAR, to obtain final approvals to commence drilling operations. "
So they need a bigger more powerful work over rig . Anyway look on the bright side - ZEN should be somewhat isolated from any election results come Friday morning . Any UK oilers (with operations in the UK) will tank with Labour getting in
the A100 rig ?
