Very few refineries can process crude with more than 3.5% sulpher. The cost to refine 3.5 adds around 20% of cost. Hence this find may not be economically viable. Some need to undertake basic research

Futures markets also showed US Gulf 3pc sulphur fuel oil settling at 74pc off of the price of Brent in January 2020 and remaining below 79pc through 2020.

Lets deal in ECO facts
- ECO have oil, is it commercial? What are the commercials exactly
- Gil purchased 100k, does that feel good, or a self fulfilling SP deflection
- TWL currently have a number of challenges, can they afford to go into production with heavy crude? Best use of capital, maybe not
- We have not yet hit light crude, so still at first base in that respect
This is down to risk appetite. Personally I thing we are around evens short term ie no HC production = ~40p Vs commercial confirmed 80p. Pay your money take your chance. However we are likely to take a hit Monday AM (and yes I do hold) just try and look at prospects based on facts at my disposal, positive or negative.
Those with rose tinted specs are the ones that get burnt. I am happy to take a hit if I make the wrong decision ......unlike others who fall in love with their shares. Something learnt the hard way through many years investing. Anyway off my soap box, my pizza is ready...:-)

The main point is will it be commercial ?. The processing of HC is more costly and worth less in the market. Will the costs stack up?
If they dont stack up we are effectively back to square one with no oil, thats the bottom line.Also TWL seem less keen than ECO.
There is bound to be some reaction when this news is RNS'd. I expect this to be negative, unless the partners specifically state its commercial

Maya is a heavy sour crude oil with an API specific gravity between 21 and 22 degrees and a sulfur content of 3.4%, meaning only the most sophisticated refineries are capable of profitably processing it
IF we have 12API and 5% sulpher, sounds like we have a challenge

Not good, feels like we are back to square one.

Personally dont care when they re list as long as the SP in in double figs :-)
