There seem to be constant articles mainly in the times re MTRO. I wonder if the shorters are paying for these articles? not sure why the fascination , since no customer has lost any money.

I am expecting PAT of atleast 200m this year. Huge drop compared to last year but you tell me where i can get that type of return which increases with volatility. remember 40% of their income is non ESMA, and 60% of the remainder are professional clients.

The BoD have said we are going to have a RI at a price of 0-800p, the RI could be at 500p,600p,700p or 800p, would you invest if you did not know what share of the business you were buying post-dilution? No one with an ounce of sense will invest without knowing. Talk about painting yourselves into a corner.

MA is not going to bid jack all for the business. DEBs has some of the most onerous leases in the entire retail space, something which he absolutely despises. Why would he buy such massive contingent liabilities? MA is a carion feeder.

MTRO has a good business model and is growing, can easily be taken over by any of the other challengers. MA is only interested in distressed sales paying pennies in the pound.

That is what I am unsure about, this thing has fallen almost 80% and still the shorts remain open. Maybe they expect this to go the same way as Debenhams.

Looks like this is going the same way as IRV.

Have a think about why this share is the second most shorted in the UK and then read the latest results. You will understand why £20 is now a pipe dream unless they become the most profitable bank in the UK.

CMCX results are out next week. I expect this to fall another 10% due to poor results by CMCX. Overall I expect this to recover over the medium term, since I am bullish on the stock, but over the short term I expect the market to be irrational.

I am not, never short especially when the sp is low like MTRO, far too risky. But can spot a bunch of imbecile BoD a mile away.

Management will not obviously heed this advice and will continue to write cheques which their ar*es cannot cash in. The whole problem with MTRO is management have these bold plans but a lack of capital to follow up with. They cannot continue to grow like this without needing more and more capital especially as they will not be allowed to use bespoke capital models before 2022 especially after the RWA cock-up which shows how low of a priority they give such an important metric in terms of growth. The shorters can see through this, hence they will not close their positions.

Under normal circumstance the BCR funding would be a wonderful thing. METRO is being shafted left right and centre by shorters, they need to go into damage control mode, and conserve capital until the shorters get bored and move on.

a £350m RI when the current MC is £790m will completely decimate shareholders current holdings. They only need the £350m because they have said they will match the BCR's £120m with £240m of their own funds. I say tell the BCR to f**k off with their money. Always a bad idea to accept government money, too much scrutiny and too many strings attached.

Plus is a cash machine. Why would you exchange cash for cash in a sale? does not make sense.
