The contractual position is clearly not straightforward. The Wsg contract is for the old terminal and not the new one. The government appear to be considering using the old terminal for military purposes suggesting ALL passengers will go through the new terminal. Unless Wsg can novate their contract to cover the expansion, then they are fooked. I hypothesise that Wsg and summa are discussing/ negotiating on how a contractual relationship can be formed and quite clearly summa hold the strongest hand. If Pete has learned from TEMA, then we won’t get another “lions share” approach to future revenue. He is silent because it’s not going his way… why else is he silent?…..if it was “a slam dunk” that he would automatically hoover up ALL passengers, we would have learned ages ago…. We haven’t, and if the airport opens next month, then I think we will find out in the next few weeks… I would be amazed if he does “ a Tema” and provide a service during negotiation… for those that can remember that far back… it was a very foggy period, and Pete working at risk or “ on account” as he put it…. What we do know is that he remained very opaque for as long as he could once we had sussed that the rhetoric and the reality where way off….. Pete is good at that……. B
