You do know he was once thinking about starting his own political party? He's going to hang on as leader for as long as possible. He's even going to try to change the constitution.

Yunus has still given no date for the elections. It'll be at least 12 months before he does. By then he will be well cemented in, feted globally by the US, UN, IMF, etc. He might even start his own party and run in the election himself.

Our best hope is that he has a change of heart about coal. 12 months waiting for the BNP to get in will outlive GCM's current funds.

Thought we had a good chance around 5p but that soon petered out as usual. Hasina going was a positive as we all thought the BNP would walk in, the BNP had previously sanctioned the mine. However the US backed Yunus is a real spanner in the works and he isn't looking to leave his new post any time soon. Also he's spent many years fighting coal pollution on the global stage. Searcher you can't find 1 article of Yunus being positive about coal - why would he change his lifetime beliefs now? And when will he set the election?

Yunus will be looking to extradite Hasina back to Bangla to face charges. They are sworn enemies. Hasina tries to jail Yunus on corruption charges. Yunus wants revenge. This could take many months. He's talking about many things now, but not an election. The press are not even asking.

Never been better? Yunus has spent years campaigning against global coal use. He's signed protest after protest calling for it to be banned and be kept underground for ever. It's delusional to think he's just going to suddenly approve an open pit mine. And he looks in no hurry to call an election.

Where has this been stated? Yunus has not given an election date - and it'll be 90 days from when he does. But Yunus is in no rush, he's enjoying himself being leader. And enjoying exposing all his mortal enemy Hasina's corruption and ensuring she can never return to Bangladesh. Yunus will only call an election when the time is right for him. And the US. And that'll be when a proUS govt will be installed.

Searcher do you have a link for that article please? It concurs what I've said. Yunus may continue to use coal short term until his green bs kicks in but there's no way he's going to approve a 30 year open pit mine. And again he was asked about elections today but said the people will decide when the time is right.

Digit - Yunus is very proUS. Hasina thinks the US organised the coup against her. She was predicting something would happen in May24. China are completely out of the picture whilst Yunus is in charge.

Pappi when the situation changes you have to adjust accordingly. I called the early fundraise and I called the price drop to below the fundraise price despite the protests on here that it wouldn't happen. All the work by Tang and the lobbyists DGI was at Hasina's government. Hasina being ousted has blindsided GCM. What can they do now? Yunus is totally against coal, he's been a longtime vociferous opponent to coal. He's not going to go against his beliefs now. Especially with the US influencing him. So GCM has to wait for the BNP to get voted in. But Yunus looks in no rush to hold an election. He's enjoying being the leader. He's no different to Hasina, same hat just a different cowboy. He's already defied the statute by not announcing an election to be held within 90 days. He's long time friends with the US and he won't be getting involved with China.

We could be waiting at least 6 months for elections and the BNP tlma get in. There may be another political party by then. Maybe longer than 6months. And then 6 months to settle in and start making big decisions. And who's to say they will even acknowledge GCM's interest once the rule of law in Bangladesh goes out the window.

Its going to be a long wait. This will be back in the 1p by then without a doubt. That is the reality. GCM was so close but now is even further away ever.

Junus meeting with the US embassy. He should be organising the election within 90 days as per the constitution. He's enjoying being head of state. When will his embezzlement case be thrown out?

Junus is off to New York in a few weeks for a UN meeting. Whilst there he'll no doubt catch up with his friends Hilary and Obama and they'll figure out a plan for him to remain in charge of Bangla indefinitely. There'll be no election for the foreseeable future.
