"Somebody in PR realized that the abbreviation WC could embarrassing if the second Warwick well went down the toilet."
..... or maybe they are not aiming for the Crest anymore ? Could their plans have changed slightly for the next Warwick drill ?
Wilhelmshaven suggest that HUR's crude it is either going to the Shell Refineries at Cologne or BP's Lingen and Gelsenkirchen Refineries. I think there is also a mid-sized refinery at Hamburg that may also be on the Wilhelshaven pipeline but I am not sure who owns that now.
Weather seems to be deteriorating in the area with 7m waves on the way. The AS does seem to be loitering though, so maybe going back to Glen Lyon rather than the AM as others have suggested.
The other thing to consider is that while BP may choose to trade the oil, they rather handily have a refinery at Rotterdam to keep busy as well, and supplying it with feedstock from a local source would have its attractions for them.
Chinski, and that is the point. Sentiment will change at some stage in the months ahead. There are probably a few boxes that need ticking first but it will change assuming the EPS continues to deliver and half a dozen other milestones reached. They do need to explain their policy on a move to the main market though as that is one of several open questions that remain.
They will generally get a very slightly better price for 43 API Oil than 38 API crude as well.
A few days earlier than I was expecting. Well done to all envolved. Now back to Warwick.
The AS is closely approaching the AM now for hook-up.
There is no real sign of the annual increase in Oil consumption changing. When plotted on a graph and trended, demand is increasing at pretty much the same upward rate that it has since 1950. I keep looking for signs of a consumption plateau but don't see any sign yet of one developing. It is no different for Gas where the trend also continues upwards. Coal consumption though may have peaked and now be declining, although we need a few years more data to confirm. Some of the doom mongering discussion anbout the future of the Oil & Gas Industry is being overplayed for now, but it will happen one day.
I wasn"t remotely concerned about the presentation skills of Trice. Steve Jobs he ain't, but having worked in a couple of Upstream technical teams in the past, i soon learned that the very best people are not always the best presenters or communicators by any means. One guy I worked with who was regarded by virtually everyone as being the best scientist in his field anywhere, could barely string a cogent sentence together as a public speaker, and as for his slide packs, just terrible. I will take substance over style every time.
I have been a Caterham owner for 30 years. Sadly I have been unable to drive it for the last two summers due to left foot problems, but next year it will be back on the road as my foot is being fixed. You are right, it is a car that you wear as John says. Talk about thread drift ............
Everything I read suggests that with one or two exceptions such as the Permian, many of the sweet spots are already past their best and in decline. These guys are going to run out of other peoples money sooner or later, indeed some already have.. I always enjoy listening to Art Berman on this topic who has been warning of a reckoning for a while. The big issue though is that the Fed might have to intervene as the amount of debt that is out there is so large that it could put the lenders at risk.
Yes they have made a decision to keep it to themselves for now
Yep she has cast off and heading for the North Sea
..............Or a significant Joint Venture partner comes along who can better leverage full field development.
Oil crept above $60 overnight, lets see if it holds.
Thx guys, I had somehow got it in my head that Spirit were operator. It must have been the payment thing.
How will the results for GWA drilling be announced? I don't think Spirit are a quoted company but are operator, so HUR cannot announce anything without Spirits say so. This concerns me a little as there is the potential for news leakage as Spirit may not have HUR's discipline. Also we are used to 7am HUR announcements. That might not happen this time if they are not leading.
Anyone got any suggestions how it wil be managed? Perhaps a similtaneous announcement ? One company via a press release the other via an RNS ?
And a nice broadside from Biffadog as well to RB.
I was wondering a few days ago how many people on the rig had drilled fractured basement before. Now I know Dr T is there, I am much happier, even if he is actually not in charge but is supreme consultant to Spirit. If HUR were producing 200,000 barrels aday then him not being at the AGM is a problem, but HUR are still a small company and I have no problem with Dr T being hands on and delegating. I think we will see more of it in the future as the company grows, as it looks like he probably doesn't enjoy the Governance and admin part of running a plc.
