At risk of being accused of the "politics of envy", one thing that p**ses me off every time it rears its head is this threat of billionaires "fleeing the country" if they are asked to contribute a bit more in tax. I cannot begin to imagine what it must be like to have tens of billions of pounds, but if I did and I was asked to pay, say, an extra £100,000 in tax, I cannot really imagine that I'd go into an utter panic, tearing my hair and wailing that I couldn't afford to go to Tesco's on Friday.

I think that would be the only sort of circumstance that would cause a 1000% rise, cj. To the dizzy heights of a penny. The "fair value" of 2.7p looks like a fairy tale.

All I'm glad about is that I am not alone - but never daring to look foolish by asking - in not understanding the concept. And it is also sobering, if we talk of percentages, to realise that 1000% rise from here will not bring untold riches to most LTHs. How often do shares rise by 1000%?

Thanks, wents. yes, I don't know why I saw October. This highlights the danger for those of us who have better things to do than be on this board 60 minutes of every hour, 12 hours a day. You cannot track back who said what and when.

As I understand it - and I have ceased trying to keep up with all the sources of "information" and "misinformation" on here - we are supposed to be hearing of not one, but two, JVs by the end of October. Oh, not another hostage to fortune by pinpointing dates? If these don't materialise, we will be facing a real problem of credibility. You can't keep going on and on specifying dates and then just gliding past them.

Take cj, for example, against whom this allegation is frequently made. I see that cj has been a member on here for 4 years, during which time he has made just over 3,000 posts.

So what, then, is the "going rate" for "ramping"? £1 per post? £3,000 in 4 years? Even at £5 per post that's only £15,000 in 4 years. Wouldn't he have found it more rewarding selling Big Issue? £100 per post? Seriously, what company is going to be paying out sums like that?

Norm, many of us who do not want to ever get embroiled in acrimony or personal recrimination feel this frustration. I could understand us being where we are if there had been a succession of "problems", "setbacks", "disappointments". But where were they? For example, it is now almost a year since the Native Title Agreement was reached. The damn ducks keep on turning up and joining the end of a lengthening queue, but in all honesty most of them will die of old age at this rate.

We have moved into the surreal by now, cj. Hardly surprising, since those of us who have been in here a long time must surely be candidates for the asylum. I've given up trying to understand what's happening. I'm just sitting here dribbling and waiting for the nurse to unlock the cell for the lunch period.

This business about "chinese party offering multiples of ufo current mkt cap", which has been hanging out there for the past two or three weeks, I can't understand a) how such a "price sensitive" statement like that can be made purely by interview, and b) why the price has refused to be sensitive to it.
