Another point which you may already have discussed (I can't be on here all that often) is WHAT "new guy". It must be a bit like suggesting to Pep Guardiola that he might be interested in moving to Watford Football Club.
The thing I cannot get my head around, BlakeneyP, is that for all those years (decades?) that you and I have been here we have seen time and time again how supposedly 'big hitters' have pumped more and more and more of their money into this, and yet the company has floundered under its management. If I was putting £10k into Jim and Bert's metal-bashing business down the road, I'd like to keep a beady eye on how well Jim and Bert were bashing metal.
No, Max, but I think you get my meaning. I can't believe that anyone of wealth would sell their shares for a minor domestic project which they could surely fund some other way. There must be some business-related reason for moving this money around.
As I said yesterday evening, I'm not fussed by someone selling 5 million shares out of a holding of over 130 million. But it is a bit head-scratching, isn't it? Someone this morning mentioned that the £22k might be money Rod would find useful for something like home improvements. But I'd have thought that anyone with sufficient wealth to own 130 million shares would have enough bunce knocking about in an instant access savings account to pay for home improvements. After all, we all say "never invest what you can't afford to lose", don't we? Intriguing.
He sold 5 million. He still holds 132 million. If he'd sold 130 million it might give cause for concern. If the market makes the share price plunge on this trivial transaction it'd just show (yet again!) how absurd AIM is.
Ah, Eck, a sane and reasonable face from the past. Hi. WTF has happened to this board?
before i went out there was a whole thread in which, amongst other things, samson was accused of being a member of the bnp, a white supremacist, a ******, and, most bizarrely, a farmer. now i've come home, where's it gone?
There is an untrue myth - and slur - about Dickens, that his novels were so long because he was paid by the word.
Just saying.
I'm a bit surprised you're not on the blower (old-fashioned compared to Twitter, of course) to the newsdesks already.
This is not made up, this just happened. I came on here this just now, saw the latest contributions from Andrew, and thought, "Oh yes, that reminds me. I want to ask XXX (a Church of Scotland minister friend of mine) about something in the Bible". Thought association, eh, looking at Andrew's writings made me wonder if it would be quicker to actually plough through the Bible! :)
In the 13 years on this board, is how pleasant it was, for the bulk of that time, in comparison with so many other vitriolic ones. There was a camaraderie which embraced even our resident sceptic, Baz, who, I think I am right in speaking for most of us, has been held in something approaching affection rather than despised. I don't like watching this board sinking to the depths of spite and contempt that is the sad characteristic of so many others.
The unfortunate performance of the share price, BlakeneyP, as you will remember with a shudder yourself, began when we were on the way to £2 (would probably have been there in a day or two more) and the Board in their wisdom decided to hand out shares at "mates rates" of £1.30 or thereabouts.
Gotcha at last, Andrew. You gave it away when you said "I do know there are multiple ongoing investigations". Although I have to confess I had to look you up on Google. You're really Angela McLaren.
Sound words, Baz. I can't take all this. I think I'll go and buy another Whitebeam, LOL
Thanks, TB. Well that strikes me as more of a case for the defence than the prosecution!
Hi TB, can you give me a very quick explanation of the police investigation, please. I am very much not up-to-speed. I am the complete opposite to Mr Andrew. Unlike him, I am not on here 25 hours a day, 8 days a week. For me, planting the fruit trees, the Whitebeam, the Pierises and the bedding plants is a more useful way of spending my time than imagining more and more and more reasons for slitting my wrists. :):) Thanks.
Barc and I go back. They come, they go, they come again.
That's lemmings. And even if it were a donkey, if it's sitting it would be difficult for it to reach the edge of the cliff.
Dear Andrew, a simple question, if I may. If you haven't been here "sweating for 10 years", why are you so very concerned with this hopeless, lost cause NOW?
"What's good for the goose......."
No, that would be a valid comment if you were aiming it at ME. TB can, and will no doubt, fight his own corner. You could also say the same about Samson, he too has been posting exclusively about SGZ of late. But I've known him on here for a long while. And I've not always agreed with him. But I know that he takes a well-balanced and well-reasoned view on things. Not starting from a default of 'The End of the World is Here' and then constantly painting ever more coats on to this Wall of Gloom.
