I agree that in general, when there is a placing the SP tends to get down to the placing price or below. This happens in general but there are some exceptions to this when the company fundamentals are strong. Take a look at Bushveld minerals for example (I don’t own any shares in this), back in April when their SP was around 14p, they raised at 10p. The SP bowed a little bit and then continued its ascent. Is now at over 22p and never gone anywhere near 10p.
Ukog fundamentals are also strong and this is obvious by the response to the last YA conversion and the placings. I understand that there has been a lot of profit taking at Ukog, but still does not explain the current weakness when we had better than expected news and lots more to look forward to.
I do hope Ukog sentiment changes soon, it will benefit us all. Take care.
We are witnessing an unjustified weakness in the SP. The SP should have been heading north in a strong advance now, instead of backpedaling. Ukog fundamentals are strong. We are in need of some more good news. Is it unreasonable to expect news on Portland layer optimisation in the next day or two?
We may have retraced a bit today but the chart still looks very strong, we had a good consolidation at circa 0.6p on very good volume.
There is no reason as to why this strong advance cannot continue, the volume has been well above average and we are still substantially undervalued. Long way to go to reach 1.6p and above.
There is only one thing that personally worries me and this is the recent weakness in Ukog SP. I believe that if Ukog SP keeps falling it will eventually drag down all Weald oilers. I hope it reverses direction and starts heading north, because with a positive sentiment on Ukog the Alba SP will be supercharged and these silly undervalued SP levels will be history.
Hopefully, we will get another HH update very soon to keep the momentum going. We are owed an update on Portland layer optimisation, let`s hope that they have finished that and they successfully managed to get substantially more flow. Wishful thinking? GLTA.
CofE, IMO the share movement today so far is very bullish.
There has been a lot of profit taking and the buying interest is still very strong. This profit taking should further strengthen the SP since weak hands that enter low are now out and the shareholders left will be looking for more value.
Today, any close above 0.58p will indicate further strength, a good consolidation.
I haven't sold a single share yet and I am in no hurry to do so. I might consider de-risking when we are in the pennies. This is my strategy and each to their own, others might consider that at lower sp. Good luck.
CofE, well said. I think we might be testing the previous high of 0.78p this week, if not today. Impressive volume yesterday, coupled with a surge of volume in to the close :)
