RE: Friday’s RNS10 Jan 2021 09:19
Ajmj,
Thanks for the explanation, appreciated. Read your previous posts and makes sense now.
So, based on your explanation, if the concentrate contains 78% of the gold and the tail contains the rest (22%) then the complete bulk sample will contain 26.54% grammes per tonne (I.e. 20.7/0.78).
So, the gold content of the complete bulk sample they used is much higher than the announced figure of 20.7 g/t, is 26.54 g/t.
Now, if they intend on recovering the gold from the concentrate only, what happens to the gold content in the tail which is quite substantial (5.84 grammes per tonne)?
Not sure though how the lab analysis confirmed the (continuous) production of 20.7 g/t from concentrate since another bulk sample may produce concentrate that contains a different gold content.
However, I am still puzzled as to why Alba chose to announce gold content in this way. What happened to the 3-5 tonne sample mentioned in the 22 July 2020 RNS?
“Alba intends to process the first bulk sample of around 3-5 tonnes of material at a third-party mineral processing facility in the UK.”

Had they sent the complete bulk sample to the independent laboratory, then announce the gold content of that sample as 26.54 g/t then the SP ceiling would have been blown off.
Announcing just that (I.e 26.54 g/t) is more important to the SP appreciation. They could then have added an explanation as to how they intended to proceed with using the Pilot Plant
This RNS is as if Alba doesn’t want the SP to appreciate which is not true ofcourse, is just that they don’t pay attention to sentiment.
The RNS looks very rushed, even though they had plenty of time during the holidays to compose a proper RNS. Really disappointed.
