POO now $61.62 - - MBS and Putin must have aggreed on a cut in production.
Hi Mogger ,
Yes , I used to have a good friend who was a Drilling Rig Superintendent ( who unfortunately passed away suffering from cancer ) He worked offshore Middle East , Far East and Aust. and I reckon he must have been on around $US 1m. per annum . They are def. worth the hge money they earn considering the life-style on the rigs.
Hi Whackford,
Have only just seen your post - been busy all day . If it helps , I subscribed to Gov.uk from off their w/site ages ago and then entered as Areas of Interest , Argentina , F.I. and Spain . From that time they send me auto emails whenever those places appear to have any info. etc. This was how this Press Release came to me.
Regards and GL
Sorry folks - the link should show .com instead of -com
JK is a Senior Market Analyst with Reuters and publishes a free circular re the Oil market etc . You can obtain it from the following link :- http://eepurl-com/dxTcL1
His latest report states that OPEC is fast losing its influence as regards setting the POO and that it will henceforth be more or less superseded by what he calls , TROIKA ( Saudi Arabia ; Russia and USA ) . He reports that the OPEC meeting scheduled for early Dec. will not be nearly as important as what will be decided at the G20 Meetings this week - therefore , expect an announcement to this effect later this week and a consequent adjustment to the POO .
It has just been announced that agreement has been reached between Argentina and Uk Gov'ts that a weekly air link per LATAM will be introduced between Sao Paulo and F.I. (MPN) and that there will be a Monthly stopover In Cordoba.
This follows discussions which have been taking place over the last few Months between both parties.
It goes on to say how this will greatly enhance trade to/from F.I. and Argentina.
Its on the Deepwater Horizon !!!
To Frogga,
He sounds like Bluehorse ?
"c" but just shy of "D"
Maybe Greenpeace ; stirring with a long-handled wooden spoon ??
I now believe MS Wartz may be correct about the identity of " Gallieo 1 " Typing and pessimism seems very similar to one "Master Shanus".
Hi G1
Great to see you here after so many years - think it was in the days of the " Ocean Guardian" when I last saw a post of yours .
Hope you are well ?
I did post a warning on Mon. at 18.14 that I could smell a correction coming . Not meaning to bum or anything but at the time RKH was some where around the 35p mark - it was just that I could see increased volatility in the Markets generally which I felt was a precursor to trouble ahead . Lets hope it doesn't fall more than 10% from the Dow and FTSE peak or we may be in trouble.
GL all
This is now beginning to smell like a typical October correction to the markets . They couldn't keep carrying on up in a straight line forever and Oct. is the Month of crashes ie. '29 and '87 . Lets just hope it is no more than a 10% drop and then reasserts itself in Nov.
Hi Dezza,
All of the important people are over on this board - well , except me , anyway - just read thru the last couple of weeks postings and you will spot all of them .
Cheers and GL
Ovets ,
I agree 100% with everything you say regarding the past , the present , the future and RKH . The big question remaining is how the hell can the World continue to exist ? The only answers I can come up with are harnessing solar power in a massive way and/or the power of the Earth's core . A possible third way is colonising other planets but here we are talking of hundreds of years and it will also undoubtedly be just for the rich few .
Hi Ovets ,
I also think that was a great post - thank you . You will now have " Flareboom " getting on your back as he did with me a couple of weeks ago when I was posting about all of the downsides of electric cars !
i also watch a program on TV called " Railroad Australia " and am curious as to how a train can cross the Nullabor Plain running only on Electric Power ??
Nice find , Garbs .
GL ,fella
We have been down this road before ; but what the hell , here goes again .
How is Electricity generated ? A little bit by Wind Power ; a little bit by Hydro turbines ;a little bit by Solar and a little bit by Nuclear ! All of the rest is generated by Gas Fired ; Coal Fired and Oil Fired power stations !
I just cannot see what this Electric Mania is all about apart from reducing pollution in Urban Areas !
We are still going to require Oil and Gas for decades , at least until we can utilise the power of what lies beneath our feet in the core of the planet .
In the meantime just look forward to Rocky finally get moving .
GLA
We keep hearing about most vehicles on the roads in 20 or 30 years time will all be electric . But what I would dearly love to know is where is all of the electricity to run these vehicles is going to come from ? I realise that we will have many more wind farms plus we have hydro and a small % of nuclear , but from what I understand , the total power generated by this lot will be no more than 25% , and maybe , less !
Therefore , the balance of around 75% will, IMO , have to still come from Oil and Gas ? So , that kind of shoots down the theories of all these so called experts who keep telling us that the days of Oil and Gas will soon be over - and this usage does not include all of the other myriad uses of Oil in particular ie. Plastics ; Paint ; Shipping ; Pharmaceuticals , believe it or not ; blast furnaces ; a whole host of other manufacturing facilities ie. Brickworks and the foam for cavity wall insulation ; all to name just a few .
Make of this what you will - but the days of massive use of Oil and Gas are long from over. Just all IMHO , of course .
