Ref' News items:- I've asked this question before... why doesn't this site show new news items with a red dot and number on the icon above anymore? It used to until recently? ie, lots of news today but no dot on the icon. Most days now, I look at ftse100 news to make sure I don't miss anything. Oh, and I'm not being sarky when I know it's not a legal requirement but I consider it a service that used to be fulfilled by this website. That why I signed up for it.
Next, I wish this sp would settle into some sort of upward trend. As many, its very erratic. Ah well, good luck to everyone ;-))

Yes, that's the place I use also for data. BTW, Brobad.... ex dividend date is 12th August. You have until close of market on the 11th August to buy to receive the large dividend. However, be aware that the sp 'normally' falls by the dividend on this day. Sometimes even more...but of course not always. Like everything, it's a gamble whether to buy before or after ex divi date for the best value deal. Good luck All

Jatw, I'm certainly no expert on this but the deal was cash and new AZN Adr shares with AstraZeneca effectively paying $175 . Now that Alexion is $185 what happens? Will AZN have to 'pay' more? Also, AZN is issuing all new Adr's to give to he Alexion shareholders. Will this effect AZN sp with dilution. Too complicated for me. I look forward to the experts to explain

One of the Tabcorps companies maybe cheaper to acquire now but they may have to bid a higher proportional amount for it. Question..which of the two new companies has the highest value? Anyway, the news hasn't done any damage to the sp today. Gla
