This isn’t a rollercoaster it’s a brick off a cliff. Share holders need to except it’s over.

If you imagine BP is your home and share holders are your bank/mortgage. When interest rates were low it’s worth buying back shares. Why buy back shares when you pay the share holders less then you would get interest payments in the bank?

Anyone got a mortgage out there with rates less then the rates you can get in a savings account?

I’ve set my buy 7500 shares at £4 might have to wait for December 19 everyone know this share drop hard on pay day but who knows might get in early and share price might go up on pay day.

Just would have made more sense to buy tomorrow morning. Buying today means you get the dividend depending on your tax situation you would have to pay tax on it or it would at least come of your tax free allowance. But mainly the share price will drop at leases 7p in the morning so better to buy tomorrow.

No mad we done research and in the last 20 years there has only been 1 example of the BP share price rising on ex div date if i remember correctly. But please you must do your own research.

Higher interest rates take about 6-18 months to filter though so in reality we are only feeling the impact of the first few rate hikes and I shouldn't have to explain what higher interest rate are going to accomplish, if you don't know that you shouldn't be investing.

Im out at the moment for the points Spights made you can get the same return in a easy access account paid monthly and 1 percent higher if fixed for 12 months.

I predict 460 on ex div date and 450 on 19th dec payment day and around 400 in feb 2023.

Just wait for February BP will be £4 or under that’s where you start buying.

Just goes to show who is really in charge and it wasn't Looney. Definitely more going on behind closed doors. At least when the UK finds out they have been profiting with Russian oil they all ready have a scapegoat all quite convenient if you ask me.
