I think I have been in a coma.. haven't checked my shares but judging by the last few comments, lost a shi;t load of money.
Only saving grace is that bullchitter AlanG lost more than me.
Tunnelling 6 months ahead Bellars? I foresee no problems with the TBM's. They will be waiting for the shafts to be finished. I honestly don't think we will see 'production' for 5 years minimum.
What is happening in two years then AlanG?
Good morning Fred, Myo. Yep... you are right, people shouldn't believe everything they hear on these boards, See.. you you even had me saying 'Good Morning' when it is clearly the afternoon ;)
First off, great respect to you guys, especially MYO with the hours and hours of research you put into this board. I have read and shared most of your stuff and it is fascinating, All my family have been involved in shaft sinking over the years. Mum was the best ;)
But does anyone invest money into shares NOT to make a profit. Be it quick or slow. And this one is slow.
Fred, while you are right about being influenced. And the board is full of rampers and de-rampers. People are going to influenced. And the experts I talk about, hgghhhAlanG... to slap down the likes of Oilman with his correct predictions. Shouting from the roof that he is crazy, and anyone else is also crazy to not buy in at 35p, 32p, 30...etc. Only shutting up when it reached his average of 17 or 18p. People have put houses on this share (if we believe the hype).
I know without investment, this GREAT project wouldn't have gone ahead, but it has shafted a few people. Confident it will pay out in years to come, but only if you can hold on. And for those that put their home on the line. I hope the friends sofa offer is good for a few years.
Onwards and upwards (or downwards in the case of the TBM)
Forwards you mean. VBM is downwards ;)
Oilman, You are the bringer of doom and gloom to this share.. It would be nice to ridicule your statements. Unfortunately, you have been bang on the button with your predictions. And under a tirade of abuse from a few members on here saying how crazy you are. I for one listen to what you have to say. A few 'experts' here have lost a lot of money for private investors listening to their advice.
I think Robins has met him. I will surely miss Myo's posts. I have a great interest in shaft sinking techniques having done it myself for 15 years. His information and willingness to post information just for an insignificant me. I take my hat off to the fellow. Could be he has re-assessed things. His time spent researching wasted on a number of unappreciative ar$es on here. Time. It doesn't stand still.
"If you don't like what CF did yesterday , please tell me what you would have done...."
Awarded myself a £475K bonus to help drown the sorrows?
Rockhead, great video. I grew up around there. Almost every weekend riding my Montesa along those lines to Lumpsy Pit.
Verde Celeste. just Boulby Potash use that line. And the security infrastrocture has been beefed up since I was there.
Where do you live then Rockhead? if you are 100m from the line? I lived in Brotton for ages.
The Cleveland Way is a beautiful walk. Need to get back up there soon.
Trouble is. Oilman has been more accurate with his price predictions than a lot on here. AlanG I remember short of calling him an idiot on drugs to dare say it would drop below 30p. Don't be too quick to dismiss his words.
Wilton shouldn't have a hole. Well not a vertical hole anyway.. Straight in...dry!
"in the teens again....who would have thought it....."
Not AlanG anyway.
Lockwood Beck probably essential to the ventilation plans now.
I moved to IG because my old company, ii were charging a three monthly charge. I went to IG because they were NOT charging an annual/monthly fee, just £8 per trade!
I would guess no way they will try fit out the MTS tunnel as they are digging it. As someone else mentioned, segments will be transported in using tracks, muck will be taken out using temporary stitched conveyor. Extended as the TBM advances. Grout taken in via temporary pipework. Temporary ventilation baggings probably one metre diameter to a dead end tunnel.
The final conveyor to take the Poly out will be a more permanent vulcanised (not stitched) job, and massive to take the load it is meant to do. Ventilation will be through a now open tunnel with air doors to suit the ventilation design(no baggings).
And finally, why the need to try fit out while digging? The tunnel will be complete before the shaft anyway.
In my heart I can't see any problems with the MTS tunnels. I think they have more of a chance being completed on or before time than the shafts. It is mainly ground/strata conditions of the shafts I 'worry' about. Mudstone tunnelling I can't see many problems.
MYO, your knowledge and information are second to non here. Full respect to you for all info and input.
I would go with the lower rate of 3m per day. This is based on a number of things. Firstly I am a glass half empty person, if things can go wrong, they probably will. I don't know about these new (to me) construction methods but can envisage delays of one type or another along the way.
Record sinking targets were achieved by prep'ing everything before the actual one month of record breaking. ie the preceding weeks and post weeks were lower meterage.
I believe we were doing 20 metres a week using drill and fire method at the Asfordby Mine. but then there was stoppages for freezing, grouting etc. I started on the foreshaft in 1986 and finished with the commissioning of the skip shafts in 1990. That was four years for two shafts of 500 metres deep!
My dad was set on for a predicted 6 months contract halfway through the Boulby job on the sinking in the 1970's. He was there 6 years!
New mining methods, things could go exactly to plan...
I think this is a fantastic project and wish every good fortune with it. I hope I lose my £2.50 bet.
I have been in and out of this share for quite a while now, probably 2010 when I first bought. I hope to buy in bigger at AlanG's average of 17p ;) Then slap his ar$e at the pound party.
Good luck all... it will fruit eventually.
£2.50 then! And June 21st 2021. Production! and not a bucket full what someone has brought out.
I can add up taste for life. I doubt they will be even down to the bottom in two years. Let alone the furnishing and commissioning of skip shaft. Maybe my views are a little pessimistic and I hope I will eat humble pie in two years time, but I put a £2 bet on with anyone that production is not happening December 2020 or even 6 months later.
AlanG We are NOT two years from production. Please stop misleading.
