Kiss of death on the SP now AlanG has said only one way the SP can go....
AppyChap.. Operating in 3 years? Now that is an optimistic outlook. Would like to bet you're a little out with that.
No mention that I can see of freezing the ground. They would have sunk the external pipes already if they were. I suppose with segments it is a better proposition than pouring concrete. I can see it being very wet though, hopefully not too long a grouting period. One of the Selby shafts they were a full year grouting!
Thanks for the great links.
Excuse my ignorance. I understand the VSM will be used to sink to the 120 metre mark but then what sinking process will be used?
£8Million was a ball park figure, might be even more with metallic paint and leather seats.
As NumptyPi said. Buried into the ground as it can't reverse. You could be right about Lockwood Beck. If there is a way to dismember it and salvage, why not, but it is 'only' about £8million so why bother.
That was a great video. Fantastic progress. Shame they couldn't have adopted a similar thing for the MTS. I know why not obviously, but would probably have shaved a lot of costs.
Ahh duracellAA didn't realise that. But probably the tunnel will be completed in a similar time frame to the shafts anyway, sooner I'd say. And they have no intention of forestalling this process to save costs anyway.
I can't see any other parts of the jigsaw they could delay to save costs. Can anyone?
I can't see how they could sell Poly4 without it being completed. They can't load it onto lorries at the mine site. Therefore the tunnels need to be built and furnished. They can't get it out without two holes in the ground. What other process could they forestall in order to start selling the mineral? I can't think of any.
There are rampers and derampers. And AlanG, you are a ramper. You been telling people to get in at 32p saying they'll never get another chance like this. Where do you buy those rose tinted spectacles?
" we are around 24 months from completion , plant on site to excavate"
Whats happening in 24 months?
Yes, a repeat of what Jesse11 said, A big thanks for the effort of information.
How long do they predict the shaft sinking process to take?
I sometimes post, not a lot, but I try to keep up to date with these posts. First in since 2010 maybe, sold all in June. this year as I needed cash. I am looking at buying in again.
I do shake my head at some of the 'experts' on here with their advice. Rampers and derampers. Funny.
Keep up your good posts MYO, very informative.
Talking about the £1 party, years ago there were people always harping on about that. Forget some of the names now, are they still alive?
A deep mine is where mining is done via shafts or drifts, as opposed to open mining which is pretty much a quarry. Asfordby had one shaft 450 m, the other about 500 m without googling.
It is no biggie what brexit said, but it is incorrect!
11:55 "Sirius Minerals are building the first deep mine in the UK for over 40 years."
Asfordby mine was started in 1986, 32 years ago. That was a deep mine?
Geez, when is this gonna be resolved!
if they aint, I am.
