Stu Everyone agrees there are knowns and unknowns but that doesn't mean that people aren't allowed to speculate and from opinions or make predictions based on what is known or is apparently happening. I still stand by the basic premise that the small uplift in fans as seen is only going to help a little, not a lot as was hoped for by many. I’m sure, once the dust settles, we will sit down and talk to see how I can help to take Rangers forward.” However the headline for the above article in the Express was 'I have cash for Rangers - Kennedy' as if it was fact he was going to invest. 'Investors' and fans alike deserve to hear differing opinions to see through the hubris that everything is going to be alright at a business/club that from the factual accounts is in debt £15m to the parent company, which itself is running an £8m annual loss and owes £5m to Sports Direct (with a good chance that has doubled to £10m in line with the recent RNS) with all major assets encumbered and no line of credit to the bank. Fact - King and the 3 bears and anyone else trying to keep the club afloat need very deep pockets and fans need to turn out in the region of 40k plus week after week to get things back on track. Fact - to date there is no great evidence of deep pockets or a huge upsurge in attendances.

Unfortunately due to your apparent lack of understanding on the distinction on what games get covered by season tickets I had to put you right on footballing matters. I have yet to hear you say anything sensible with regard to my original point or anything sensible with regard to the current plight of Rangers both in relation to the financials or football. Unlike many contributors to some football forums you seem to be the one incapable of a debate and I wonder why you even bother to contribute.

Stu Fair enough, as you clearly know noting about football then how about telling us when this stock is going to get back on the road and when anyone is actually going to make any, what Cambridge would call, significant financial returns on their investment.

Stu You keep to what you know about stocks and shares and I'll concentrate on knowing simple things like how a football club's season tickets work etc :-) Have said for long enough Rangers will survive in one form or another. Whether that is being run by an AIM listed Plc and an all conquering Scottish Team taking Europe by storm is another question. The problem for Rangers past and present is that, while all other clubs would love the income from a 35k crowd, the size of the overall operation needs high crowd numbers just to balance the books. The large and expectant fan base is as much a burden as it is a benefit. A decent club and team on the park should, with appropriate austerity to get things under control, be able to survive on the fans income alone, but will it be of a quality that fans expect and be one that will be competitive against Celtic and in Europe? History has shown us that to get to that level additional monies have to be found by either soft loans, tax avoidance or simple non payment of social taxes. Everyone is wise to the tax dodges now, all the bank managers doors are well shut, so it is currently down to fans pouring through the gates and/or King and the 3 Bears having deep pockets. Time will tell if that is enough.

Sometimes clubs include one or two early rounds fixtures to generate some atmosphere but it is pay as you go the further you go in cup competition. I think you will find that long before Llambias and Leach joined the company the people chasing away customers were Dave King via the season ticket boycott and McCoist due to his incompetence as a football manager. Surely by the time Llambias and Leach came on board they had no choice but to try and cut costs to keep the company alive due to the lack of income. How much is it going to take to get to the point the club is going to seriously challenge Celtic and go on a Euro run? Once that quantum has been established, where is the money going to come from ? Do the fans have enough patience to wait for success and what does that mean with regard to income streams if attendances are not maintained at a high level.? Some clues from the people who are now running the club. King said publicly in 2014 he thought £50m would needed and he had £30m and thought he could convince others to come up with £20m. The other week King said £16m -£20m or possibly more over the next two years. Paul Murray believes five years to sort out the mess. Douglas Park says there should be 'no outlandish promises or unrealistic timescales' Pulling that together, from the horses mouth, there is a good chance the club will need an additional circa £10m income/loan/investment every year for the next five years. @ The wee man Certainly reported that King was heading back to SA but as it has been reported in the past he often stops of in London going in an out of the UK there is a possibility he popped into the City to sniff around. Whether or not he went to London this time is really on no consequence because I'm guessing it would be a waste of his time seeking City investment for the very reason Sitonfence outlines. Those are the hurdles that need to be overcome, either that of the Rangers Men are going to need deep pockets.

So last night an additional 15k. Lets say half paid £200 and the other half paid £100. That's around 2.25m minus the VAT thats around £1.8m extra till the end of the season plus any add-ons for other pay as you goes that boost the crowd to 40k plus at the week ends. Every little helps, being their are loans, gardeners, maintenance and an current annual loss of £8m and a squad needing replenished, so probably just enough to pay for the lawyers that will be defending the club after Llambais, and Leach put in their claims for unfair dismissal and Easdale launches a defamation action!! Seriously it will not be the 'Rangers Men' in the boardroom that will save the club but, once again, the fans. However that is only if they can stomach continuing to support their team through thick and thin. Presently there is a lot of thin to be had.

A crowd of 35k is impressive on a Tuesday night but far short of a sell out. On the park two points lost. In the bank account, how does it look? How many of the 35k were 'pay as you goes' and how many were merely returning ticket season holders? The other day posters were saying millions of new income would be flooding into the coffers given it was going to be sell outs from now to the end of the season. Given the performances on the park I can't see it. Still choppy waters ahead for Captain King.
