I’m sorry but institutional investors do not base investment decisions on sentiment. It’s absurd.
But yes, it is one of many variables that would be considered after investing. Sentiment can change quickly, the herd, social media, big trading. All factors.
But seriously big players absolutely do not make decisions to invested hundreds of thousands, if not millions on sentiment.
It’s crazy to think they would… I agree sentiment would be, and should be monitored. When Buffet ( who people far too often quote ) talks about this he’s talking about it being a factor. Not a prime investment case.
If and when sentiment is very positive on this share it will fly. As it did when it went to £6 and beyond. But it crashed back down because sentiment is not reality! The smart money would have bought before that sentiment, and sold as close to the peak as possible, absolutely knowing that the fundamentals would eventually reflect the reality. Why, because they know the numbers, they’re not making investment decisions on sentiment. They’re exploiting it!
Anyway, I appreciate your optimism on this share. Just don’t let it blinker you to truths.
I do share your enthusiasm for this for the future however. And I for one want to be in before sentiment kicks in.
