The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Fuel prices and the impact of the increased Inflation is why its dipping imo. I didn't think we were heading for recession soon, but now I see the price of a barrel over $110 I think we're in for a recession maybe in the next 12 months, and we're in for a long wait to see £2.20
Impossible to guess the bottom mate, but given the business is all but out of the covid debacle and they don't see material impacts from the war bar fuel costs. Its not unreasonable to think its cheap atm.
Elon musk even asking them to pump more oil so I suspect that's coming. Hopefully it'll balance markets a bit to offset the Russia sanctions.
If it was my cash I'd wait, possibly more short term pain this week but 124 isn't a bad
Hopefully this is the last dip before we head into Easter/summer holiday season. I've been annoyingly reluctant to take profit and hold here. Probably could have taken a nice 5 figures out of this and instead keep holding till we're out the woods.
Expected to be closer to 200 than 100 at this point. Frustrating as hell but hopefully Oil producers are going to open up the taps soon.
Was just an opportunity yesterday, we're not going into a nuclear war obv. Putin just needs to look like the victim defending his people. This war won't have much if any impact on the recovery imo.
Cease fire or any sort of progress in talks and we'll be on our way
Laughable response... I dont care what you think but still talking about me 4 days later because I mentioned trump. Another Trump Derangement Syndrome sufferer. Chin up you'll get over it.
You were the one that started the name calling last week if you recall I wasn't speaking to you directly (I don't think) I made statements about politics and you tugged on your testies. Called me stupid ifrk.
Also who's jumping and hiding, still here happy to call you the moron that you clearly are.
But I'm not gonna take part in your gaslighting anymore so you keep tugging on your balls and hating that straw man you've built in your head.
Emotional child...
Jotom I gave 1 example quoting trump and you started pulling on your testies. Absolutely triggered by the guys name which is pathetic. I have been a member here since like 2007 I have 1 account and 1 profile.
I also don't think I've had any strong opinions on climate. I'm for balancing the market and producing our own oil as opposed to getting a foreign enemy to do it for us. There's plenty we can do on climate but bankrupting the working class isn't the answer. The answer is to boost the economy and its been proven to motivate people to change their habits, this is proven btw.
Hammer years working class they will not give a toss.
Feel free to disagree but stop pretending I'm some troll with multiple accounts to avoid having to think...
This seems to trigger a lot of people but I think trump had a good point. We pay all this money to Nato to protect europeans from russia while we send £Billions to Russia in energy trade. Especially the Germans. They've had all these sanctions yet while the west cuts its oil and gas production to appease the green hippies, we drive up the oil price by giving market share back to Opec and Russia. We've inflated oil prices after years of affordable energy, refusing drilling on federal land/ north sea etc. Putin gets rich, the working class struggle to heat homes and Russias neighbours have a tyrant well funded and motovated watching woke western leaders take their eye of the real issues. Perfect opportunity to act...
Chasing a common cold around the world like its the biggest threat to humanity, we've been asleep at the wheel. Spent all our money and breathing room on bloody lateral flow tests to confirm yeah u have a cold, stay home.
I'm of the opinion he'll install a puppet govt etc but we'll see, I'm not sure he wants a Donbas type situation all over Ukraine for years. Who knows. Surely Ukraine won't hold out Indefinitely.
My play going forward is Russians adopt crypto. I have a few but I think I'll add some bitcoin If they're annexed financially they might need a decentralised alternative, normal Russians and businesses
Bobbins - was reading comments this morning from an alleged intelligence source and he was saying Russia isn't getting this as easy as they liked and potential for Russia to negotiate a ceasefire to save face and Ukraine agrees to drop Nato membership. Apparently Russia are out of smart weapons and are resulting to indiscriminate bombs and rockets. Ukraine alternatively smart anti tank/aircraft missiles.
Seems unlikely from what I understood about Russian hardware.
I'm sceptical it would happen tbf and anything Putin says can't be trusted. But it's possible.
I hope this is the case. As much as it should be up to Ukraine, they're going to suffer for years if they don't push it down the road, if hed even accept that now. Putin is an old man and they'll likely be better dealing with his succesor. Might be a wait but better than being bombed endlessly similar to Palestine/Israel.
We seem to be trading 1 piece of bad news for another here. Getting to the point capital is just sitting trading water here. Could be making money elsewhere as nobody seems to be buying IAG. Still aren't today it would seem...
Thank god I bought some crypto to keep me amused. Zzzzzzz
I never said its tit for tat. You used it as an example of Russia rigging an election I'm pointing out foreign funding is common place and isn't th3 same as buying an election. Again stop the gaslighting nonsense.
Next you'll be telling me to educate myself. Pathetic.
The existence of foreign money and funding is not new or unusual. There's no evidence it influenced the election. Perceived conflict of interest is not illegal.
Barry Gardner has received 500k of Chinese funding and the tories have undoubtedly had their share.
I'm ignoring nothing, there's no inconvenient truth. Nothing has been proven beyond smear campaigns and the reason emails have been dissapearing from Clinton's computer is because there's implications its a campaign to prevent trump becoming president.
Jotom as I said previously your bias and hatred of trump appears to have skewed my comments maybe? Trump maintained a relationship and appeased Putin. he did that, its not a contentious issue. Did I even say I think hes a good leader? The lefty outrage around trump meant our biggest focus was offensive language and angry students in birkenstocks.
My main gripe is weak leadership allowed us to get here. We should have seen this coming but too busy taking a knee, discussing safe space culture and gender fluidity.
We now need to limit the scope of this. If Putin has a genuine problem with Nato, at best delay membership till he's no longer a factor.
Only war we get into is 1 where putin and the west agree we don't use nukes and he'll never play that hand.
Rob you summed it up mate. "I dont think"
We are not in control here!
You can't rationalise the behaviour of a nihilist dictator. I didn't think he would invade Ukraine, I thought he was after something like reduced sanctions or end to nato membership. He just wants a fight. We need to limit the scope of it. Never mind the cost £££ where those billions coming from
Jotom none of that even implicates trump and it just shows ur political bias nothing else. I'm no fan of trump but he didnt invade anyone and did maintain a relationship with putin.
Did meullar even turn up to testify on his report? I don't think he did. It was a smear campaign and it's in court atm.
A social media campaign? sounds really out of the ordinary during an election lol.
I love this childish nonsense. If you disagree with me you're stupid lol. That means you have nothing substantial to add to a debate.
