They don’t need anyone to buy the shares. The debt holders will receive them in lieu of the amounts owed and they then enjoy the ownership of the new streamlined significantly more liquid CIneworld.

It’s current equity holders who pay the price.

The creditors will basically take the company. Anything else is not in their interests. The company has practically told us this twice now.

50% is a fantasy imo. The creditors are not going to say okay you can keep half your shareholder value and we'll happily write of £5bn.

They’ve got to issue enough shares in order to satisfy the secured lenders writing off £5bn. It’s going to be a bloodbath.

That’s not right. You would still hold your 100,000 shares but they would create many many more shares meaning the % of the company you control is worth less, hence dilution. So your 4p could become 0.4p and 90% of the value of your holding would have been wiped out.

I've put a short on before through a CFD - for that to close the market did have to be open. Although you are only taking a position rather than dealing in the underlying share.

I suppose it's the point at which the broker cuts their losses.
